I have the following immediate need:

 

Web 2.0 Developer

San Francisco, CA  (6-12+ month contract)

Rate: $35/hr

 

Immediate interview!

 

Brief description of role:

The candidate will be working on a cutting edge Proof of Concept (POC) which requires a great deal of discovery and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. They will be required to learn new technologies and develop an understanding of existing applications within the wholesale space. Candidate should be an excellent communicator, comfortable presenting material to other developers, architects, application managers and business partners.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERTISE, and EXPERIENCE:

Strong understanding of CSS and HTML, and the ability to implement both

Proficiency with DHTML

Strong _javascript_ experience

Experience with implementing AJAX interactions, and the particulars involved

Experience with cross-platform browser development

Conversant with DOM mechanics and Event programming model

Knowledge of XML and JSON

 

PREFERRED SKILLS ("nice to have"): 

Server-side development background

Object Oriented development experience (Java, C and/or C++)

Mashup experience

Key skills Required:

Web 2.0/Rich Internet App (RIA) technologies - specifically AJAX

YUI  (Yahoo User Interface) experience would be great (but Web 2.0 is the critical piece)

Web 2.0 _javascript_ Framework -- this has only been around for a couple years so any experience with it is good, and doesn't necessarily have to be job related project experience if the candidate has taken initiative to learn it on their own.

Client side _javascript_ (browser based)

Server side scripting experience doesn't necessarily have to be _javascript_, it can be Perl, Ruby, and might also include experience with XML-based XPath and XQuery.
