The developer should be a generalist capable of assisting with application architecture design in the context of integrating large 3rd party applications for the insurance industry. *Essential Duties:* · Facilitate requirements and design sessions with data analysts and business users on EDI and ETL needs. · Create high and low level specifications, test plans, implementation plans · Program solutions and help develop test data sets · Support complete software lifecycle for EDI and ETL including production support · Consult on overall application architecture in the context of integrating large 3rd party applications · Consult on build vs. buy decisions *Requirements / Major Qualifications:* · Minimum of 3 years experience in EDI and ETL development using .NET and VBscript · Experience with Ab Initio ETL; experience with Pentaho Kettle or other ETL tools a plus · Experience with XML, flat file formats, ISO EDI standards, ConnectDirect, SFTP, HTTPS · Strong proficiency with relational data models · Expert knowledge of structured query language (SQL), · General knowledge of RDBMS; DB2 and Oracle experience preferred · A “can do” attitude; takes ownership on issues, not just an EDI expert · Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills · Documented technical training (B.S.
