This includes the following functions: 1. *definition of future OS and migration from XP to the future OS. ** 2. definition of a standard desktop environment, including browser, java runtime environment, file, mail, print, etc. 3. software distribution and licensing to the desktop and both windows and unix servers 4. asset management of desktop, server and network assets 5. contract management of assets * 6. *desktop software/service catalog ** 7. migration to user profiles for software management/distribution 8. management/patching of desktop, servers, including vmware servers * Must have significant experience architecting standards for desktop and server management and operations. Significant technical expertise with Microsoft technologies is desired, including *Microsoft Unified Communications, MDOP/MEDV and Vmware VDI*.
