SAS Application Developer - on the BI side Contractor will be assigned to the OSBM and will: • Develop detailed application requirements and design specifications by working closely with OSBM. • Collaborate with OSBM and a Data Warehouse data modeler on the design and development of conceptual models, logical data models, physical data models, and dimensional data models for target applications • Collaborate with OSBM and a Data Warehouse data modeler on the design and development of ETL processes for target applications • Design, develop, test, and implement Web-based client reporting and analytic applications • Provide maintenance, support, and documentation services for client applications • Train clients on the use of the software platform and developed applications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required: • SAS Enterprise Data Integration Server • SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence Server • SAS Enterprise Integration and Foundation Technologies, including SAS Java API • SAS Bridge to ESRI • Business intelligence/data visualization (including OLAP storage and cube creation) • Relational databases • Java, J2EE, Ajax, JavaScript, IBM Websphere, Apache Tomcat • Sun hardware and Solaris 10 operating system Working knowledge and experience with technology and applications including: • Proven work experience designing, developing, and deploying applications using the SAS version 9.x Intelligent Platform technology, architecture, and resources • Proven work experience designing, developing, and deploying Java applications • Proven track record for designing and developing business intelligence applications • ETL staging environment design, tuning, and development skills • Experience implementing GIS components and data visualization in business intelligence applications • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills • Proven problem solving and decision making skills • Ability to generate detailed and comprehensive work plans and status reports • Ability to work with management at all levels in planning and implementing data warehouse applications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline with specialized coursework or work experience pertaining to data warehousing and business intelligence • Minimum of 5 years experience developing applications using SAS and Java software technology or an equivalent combination of training and experience. • Experience in the field of work related to the positions role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis especially in application development environments.
