Soft Skills Needed* -Able to work rotating shifts in a 24x7 environment -Able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both verbally and in writing. -Able to quickly analyze, resolve or escalate production issues as they occur. -Good interpersonal skills -Customer service orientation *F. Project Description/Daily Assignment* *Detailed Description of Daily Assignment:* This position is responsible for ensuring continuous availability of all hardware components in the data center. These tasks are accomplished through the use of hardware and software products that facilitate continuous, proactive monitoring of local and remote systems and the problem identification, recording and resolution for Home Depot clientele. -The person in this position will work with all groups in I.S. to *achieve 100% availability per Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)*. They will need to *perform basic tape handling tasks including adding scratch tapes to siloes*, sending tapes off-site for disaster recovery and scanning and *receiving tapes from archival vendor*. -This role requires the person to *receive incoming calls from users and perform initial fault isolation and trouble ticket creation* according to documented Standard Operation Procedures. -This role also requires resolving break/fix issues on corporate Unix servers using existing scripts, and resolving break/fix issues on corporate Windows servers using run books. -The person hired will need to escalate mainframe issues, Unix issues not resolvable via provided scripts, Windows issues not covered by run books, and other systems and application issues for which Level 1 does not have run books or access. *NOTE:** Candidates may push back on rate but you need to INFORM them that we are still in a recession and we can most likely adjust rate in 6-12 months from now.
