First, buy a good book (for example Proffesional C# from Wrox Press). After
you finish reading it try to find some basic jobs, and start doing your own
programs (I guess you already have some ideas for software).

Visiting sites like www.codeproject.com could help in getting better at this
point.

If needed, post questions you have in mailing lists like this... there are
bunch of ql people around here that can give good advices and are willing to
help.
