Objectives
After this course student will be able
- To install the Linux machines with
different methods like installation from CDROM, NFS, FTP
and HTTP sources.
- To automate Linux installation with
Kickstart method.
- To create, maintain and troubleshoot the
Linux filesystem and integrity.
- To efficiently maintain the Linux
permissions on secure data.
- To manage the system and user processes
and troubleshooting.
- To use network client tools and
utilities to check and configure the network settings.
- To write bash shell scripts for routine
system administrative tasks.
- To perform system initialization and
shutdown.
- To control and configure system services
and also real-time kernel configuration for immediate
system administrations tasks.
- To successfully setup the network
interfaces and their appropriate settings.
- To efficiently maintain the packages in
the system using Red Hat Package Manager.
- To install, configure and maintain the
Linux print services.
- To successfully deploy and troubleshoot
the X Window System.
- To successfully troubleshoot the Linux
startup and boot loader problem.
- To gracefully manage and configure the
system services.
- To install configure and troubleshoot
the network services like, NFS, NIS, FTP, DNS, MAIL,
SAMBA.
- To learn how to configure and read the
system logs to see the system behavior and user
activities.
- To learn how to secure networked systems
and how to control the unauthorized access to the system,
using Iptables.
- To learn how to secure the running
network services on Linux box using Xinetd,
TcpWrappers,etc..

Project
Participant of the course will be assigned project
to demonstrate their understanding of Linux and System
Administration. These project might include implementation
of Linux Directory & Authentication Services, File
& Print Services, Network & Server Monitor tools,
SMTP & POP Servers, or System Security Toolkit
(iptables, tripwire, portsenty etc…)
Certificate
- Successful Students are awarded Certified Linux
Professional by us.
- Students will also be able to appear for the following
examinations:
- Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Duration: 3 months 2 hours a class 3 days a week.
