Greetings!
Porting Midgard to Windows is an excellent idea. Many
Web shops have Windows on the client end, and it would
be a great thing for them to be able to first try Midgard
out on their Workstations.
Please let us know how the effort goes. Also, if you
need any information, just ask!

Ok. The Broken Shinai handles its database connection via
ODBC but will still probably work only with MySQL, as some
SQL used in Midgard is code specific to that database. I'm
not sure how much work it would be to hunt down all those
parts of Midgard and change them to more generic ones.
Another point is that the way Midgard handles its database
queries wasn't written with ODBC in mind back then, and so
the server becomes very slow when serving more than one
or two simultaneous users. For test or small scale
development usage it is efficient enough, though.
This all will change with Midgard 2 which has been pretty
much designed with ODBC and multiple databases in mind.

Midgard 2 will probably use PHP4, as that should be out
before we get Midgard 2 ready.
