Strange. I'd say this is a bug. Jukka, Emile, any idea
what is wrong with this?

At the moment, you don't. We didn't see it important
for providing this facility, as you can easily assign
administration tasks to others with the group system.
(if someone needs full control of a site, just create
a rootlevel topic, style, host and group and give the
ownership to a group this user is member of).

The preferences can be used for personalization. For
example, we let users of some extranet sites at Stonesoft
choose what content areas they want to appear on their
front page, and in what order. They also can request
email notifications of updated content. All this is done
using the user preference mechanism.
If needed, I can post some example code here, but you have
to wait until I get back to office on Wednesday.
The extra information is just a free-form text field
that can be used for providing information on the user.
For example, the person descriptions on Grey Wolves'
site use this
