BTW. maybe some kind of Midgard packaging tutorial
would help here?

This would be very good. The lack of blob serving
has been one of the bigger trouble spots so far that
have made it impossible to move into a complete
WebIWYG development model.
And to add still one point here myself:
- Internationalization and localization
While it is very probable that Midgard won't
be quite completely internationalized by 2.0,
I think we still should at least have an idea
how it can be accomplished by then. Also, a
good information resource for people using
different character sets or doing localized
versions of Midgard data would be quite
important. Of course, having the packaging
mechanism will help a lot here.
