Well, then you'll really need to define that connection via
an "extra" field, as mentioned below.

Ah.  Then you could you these as "type" selectors in spite of 
the extra fields that you wanted to use otherwise.

No, not yet -- I thought about repurposing an extra or ID 
field as well, though it will be possible to define new, dynamic
fields in Midgard 2, as far as I got it.

Why?  You could, as far as I understand your needs, define the
variables "creation date" (as Midgard does automatically),
"type" (via extra or ID field) and "score" for each article.
Every page could then use this information differently, thus 
showing the same article for one week on the general site and 
for two weeks on the regional site the article comes from, each
in a different layout -- for example.
