Alas, you need to use our version of PHP3. The changes we have
made are mostly the addition of some functions (see the Midgard
function reference) and changes to PHP's language scanner to
accommodate the <(element)> and &(object.variable); syntax 
specific to Midgard.

The midgard-php module will however function as a regular
PHP module when working with normal PHP pages.

Yes, the version 2.0 of Midgard will probably use PHP4. The
interface with PHP should also be cleaner by then.
