I have had tremendous success with thunderstone's search engine, it does up to 10,000 pages for free and it is wicked fast. I saw them at Seybold last year talking about database optimization for web servers...looking at some of the auction sites (they did E-bay at the time)..the dem was impressive so I tried the free version and really like it....... kp -----Original Message----- From: Emiliano Heyns [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2000 3:46 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [midgard] search engine for midagrd sites or any other site Dick van der Kaaden wrote: > You might want to check out www.atomz.com. I specifically want to interface directly with the search engine so we can index the database directly -- not the resulting pages. This will allow searching specifically for content records, searching password-protected content, and the search system will be using the new Midgard ACL system so a search will only return hits that the current user has access too. Atomz can only index publicly available pages. Emile -- This is The Midgard Project's mailing list.
