Greetings all,
I write on behalf of SSLUG - Skne Sjlland Linux User Group. It seems
that this list is the official way of contacting the Midgard team.
Please forgive me if this is not the case.
SSLUG and DKUUG (Danish UNIX User Group) are planning a conference,
LinuxForum 2000, together with BSD/DK (Danish *BSD User Group) on March 4
this year in Copenhagen, Denmark.
At the moment we are gathering speakers. We have Matt Welsh (author of
Running Linux) as one of the Keynotespeakers and Kalle Dalheimer (from the
KDE project) will also speak at the conference.
One of the topics we would like to cover this year, is Databases and the
Web.
Previously we have had people talking about programming in PHP3 with a
database backend, but Midgard seems look at things from a different angle.
We are looking for somebody that can talk about the "Midgard How's &
Why's" and maybe do a little presentation. The language should be danish,
sweedish or english.
As I see it, the hardcore Midgardians are either located in Finland or The
Netherlands, but I'll have to admit that i haven't follewed the list
closely for a while.
Do you know of anybody capable of presenting Midgard located in Denmark or
the southern part of Sweeden?
Please let us know by mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED]
A little history, some facts and a few links:
Previously we have held two conferences - both times SSLUG and DKUUG
together.
The Linux98 conference (one day in 98) was a smashing success with 525
people attending and last year we made Open Networks 99, which was a three
day event where we had great presentations about KDE by Kalle Dalheimer,
GNOME by Miguel de Icaza, PHP3, webserver stuff, GnuPG and many other
interesting topics.
This years conference will be funded by sponsors and commercial
exhibitors.
SSLUG is a non-commmercial organisation, with zero subscribtion
fee and no income whatsoever.
We are probably one the worlds largest LUGs, with at least 2 or 3 meetings
every month. Installfests and pizza-eating are regulars too.
We have a lot of fun!!
