Well...I was about to write one last whining e-mail about why could I not
figure this out but I just got it...the key was $argv...I am not calling by
names, just id # but it seems to work so....now I just need to figure out
what I have done...or how....I had just gotten a Chinese fortune saying I
would make a good lawyer (which I took as "do anything but programming or
you children will starve")...but I guess I will put law school off another
day....
for those of you who were wondering how...I had seen the line in the VMUC
code-init which said
if ($argc == 1) $id = $argv[0];
so I tried...
<? $topic = mgd_get_topic($argv[0]); ?>
in the page and sure enough I got output..the right output no less!
