It means that you probably doesn't updated all aspects of Admin Site to
1.2.6b2. $adminhost is used for allowing placement of Admin Site not
only as a host (admin.some.com) but under path too
(www.some.com/admin/). The latter one is simplier and doesn't require
changes in DNS which many people unable to do.
Please create separate DB with Admin and Example Sites from 1.2.6b2 and
test it. I never had problems with it (I've added $adminhost feature
since 1.2.3 version of Russian Midgard).
