To add to this, the reason why we don't support
other databases is mostly because Midgard still
uses some MySQL-specific conventions in its
database fields.
Midgard 2 will be able to support any ODBC-compliant
database but the work on that version has now
been halted for some time as our developers are
too busy on other matters.
However, it would be very nice to see also other
databases supported, and I guess PostgreSQL would
be the foremost of the needed additions there, as
that would solve the licensing problems that prevent
many distributions from shipping Midgard.
So if there is interest on working on this, please
let us know!
