The manual (which includes the tutorial) is still very much a work in
progress.
If you add pages you should be able to visit them via their URLs; you
didn't say
whether you tried that. To display the content of the topic trees you'll
have to
glue code from the pages. The VMUC demo site that comes with the basic
install has
many examples, which you can study through the admin site.

Does the page show the apache logo? If so then Midgard is probably not
fully configured
yet and it falls through to normal apache behaviour which displays pages
from the
documentroot. The default apache install has an 'It worked' page too so
the difference
counts.

If there are gaps in the the manual (in the current state better
expressed as "every
time you find gaps in the manual"), we welcome all suggestions for
improval or even
documentation contributions.
