Definitely. The server resources on Tyr have been a problem
for quite a while now.
As a short-term solution, Jukka has a spare desktop system
which we can use. We'll start setting it up next Tuesday
when I'm back from London. It'll be running OpenBSD and
will function as a replacement for Tyr until a better one
is found.
While the new system isn't much faster then Tyr, it
has 15GB of disk space instead of the current 1.5, and
that is where most of the problems have been.
We chose OpenBSD because it would be a good idea for Midgard
to get more familiar with the BSD world.
We're still not sure whether to keep Tyr also running
as a backup system, or to take it down and give to Jukka
as a test system. I'd like to have more systems available
where we could give our developers shell access, so maybe
we'll keep it online.

Yes, I think it will be good for practical reasons. When
the organization's procedures have stabilized, we can then
gather a new board with members also abroad.
And anyhow, the board is just a decision making instance
for running the organization's daily operations, and is
accountable to the members on all matters.

That was the idea. Also, Finnish NP law is what I'm familiar
with. The organization could be founded elsewhere, but then
people in whatever country that were in would have to be able
to organize it.
