Seems that one or both libs are not found, although you think so. Try
/sbin/ldconfig -p | grep mysq
and
/sbin/ldconfig -p | grep midgard
In both cases you should see the filenames of the libs written to
stdout. It may happen that libmysqlclient is missing. The standard
source installation routine of MySQL puts this lib in a location which
may not be included in /etc/ld.so.conf.
