You can probably get more accurate information in the mysql forums about
this issue. I haven't seen this (I use Redhat 6.0 too -- I assume you mean
that) and have used the mysql source rpms to rebuild themselves.

I think g++ is allready installed, try
$ which g++
to find out. Also look in config.log, it will tell you what the exact
problem is that broke the configure process
