It's hard to guess, what you are trying to do. Are you playing with the
example site that come with midgard or what? I just checked the code of
the example site. If you add a subtopic under "products", then you
should see articles which are added under it, because the page
"products" uses mgd_list_topic_articles_all which returns a cursor
object of all articles (incl those in subtopics) contained in that
topic.

You can obtain a list of subtopics using the function
mgd_list_topics(int $topic)
