I assume this is the beta test version of the new Midgard Project homepage? A couple of questions about version 2.0. 1. Do you plan any revision control? It shouldn't be too hard to pass the content to RCS when saving a page, and check it out from the ,v file when you click modify. I might have a go at coding this. Does anyone have any preferences for a versioning system--for example, is there any way of doing versioning with the MySQL directly? 2. Should we define some form of API or module integration so that we can easily adapt some powerful open-source products into the Midgard framework, e.g., I'd like to see phpMyAdmin a part of the Admin pages, and PHPLib would also be excellent. This is less of a technical question than a philosophical question -- i.e., should we try to add functionality to Midgard by reinventing the wheel, or just add existing tools, or leave the core unchanged and let developers make their own choices about the tools they wish to use with it? 3. I've long felt that Midgard needed some form of integrated page documentation system, so that each page built can also be documented. I created this for one of our Midgar-based sites, to make it easier for users to know what and how to change. 4. A small change -- allow viewing of the final page with a click on the associatedadmin page. Anyway, have fun in Paris and thanks for the great work!
