Move midgard-root.php3 to somewhere outside your documentroot, like /www,
then replace the above section with
<Files midgard-root.php3>
require valid-user
AuthName Midgard
AuthType Basic
</Files>
and update the MidgardRootfile directive to reflect the new location. Then
restart apache.
