Beta4 was mislabelled as beta3 so if you got the sources recently you may
have beta4. If so, mgd_errstr(mgd_errno()) will tell you why you can't get
the styles if called after the code that fetches them.
Turn on mysql logging to see a what goes on. And have a peek at the grant
tables, these may also affect access on table-level IIRC.
