Hi, I've been working with midgard for quite a while now, and we have started
looking at using it for various other commercial sites... now this has lead to
alot of interesting questions and situations.
User Input methods
For the general part, the form based input system seems to work only where
very simple text input is needed, however for anything more complex, We
considered it impractical to get the writers to learn even basic HTML..
Our current answer is to allow them to edit Web pages in dreamweaver and we
wrote a import script that parses directories, reads files - parses the HTML
for hidden tags eg. START CONTENT/END CONTENT. reads various stuff like titles
etc. and then syncs this with the database... While this method works, it's
not what I would describe as 'Integrated :)' - If anyone wants the code, they
are welcome..
Has anyone else worked out any other methods (dreamweaver plugins?) gtk apps?
mozilla plugins? - eg. A more integrated editor application that ties in with
midgard????
Version Controlling?
Did I notice a while back that somebody was considering tying the Midgard
backend into a CVS system, or what is the status of a revised admin system?
that writes superseeded articles in some way???
anyway, any thoughts or comments would be appreciated
regards
alan
