I'm taking a sideways look at objectish databases as possible storage engines for 2.0. Anyone here got any experience in that field? I'm looking for free-form object databases with searching/matching capabilities. I've found a lot of them, most not in very active use. Here are a few that may warrant looking into: - acedb, C API. I have no real feel for the searching/matching capabilities, limited security system, limited concurrent access. - framerd, C API. Has matching capabilities (which is cool) but uses a lisp-ish query language. The little I did with lisp has long since been repressed. - lincks, searching capabilities, C API. I can't find any current info on it in a websearch, although it seems to be still updated. - mood-sx. Has (from the specs) great matching capabilities but uses C++. I'm going to give each a try but I'm open to people sharing the burden or suggesting alternatives. Emile -- This is The Midgard Project's mailing list.
