There is no short-term plan for generic links. What you could do is
(ab)use articles with a custom type to represent links and use a free
field or a parameter to point to the actual article. This does mean
that your listing code gets more complex.
Linking is one of the features I'm trying to edge into 2.0, but since
I haven't found an 'aha-that's it!' storage solution yet I can't
provide details about it.
