Well, Finally recovered from the expo.. There was alot of interest in midgard... (no developer volunteers unfortunatly :) I had a go yesterday with the beta5, and eventually gave up... on a Mandrake box, we we ran into a few dependancy problems, xmlparse, libg something, anyway after getting the lib compiled the mod always failed with the -lmidgard message about not connecting ok -eg. check ldconfig & mysql ... never fixed that one. The library dependencies where easier on debian but it still would not get past the -lmidgard bit.. on the lib compile, even after adding everthing and the kitchin sink to the ld.so.conf file & running ldconfig. As far as RCS stuff, I have almost finnished hacking together a modification of the artice/topic admin to use a rcs 'tree' with topics named rcstopic1 - (which has all new articles and topics for topic 1) rcsarticle1 - (which has the latest revision of article 1) rcstopicrev1 - (which has the latest revision of topic 1) Its currently being tested on the 1.4beta4dev I did get a little confused, it seems that when I move an article from my rcstopicX 'topic' to it's real home = when I press approve.. the original code used mgd_update_article - however it did not do anything... (eg. change the $topic in the call).. however mgd_move_article seems to work OK. - If this is true, it's going to make the RCS system very 1.4 dependant.. I think this is probably something far better sorted out at the C code level :) - but I need to find somebody to do that :) regards alan -- Technical Director Linux Center (HK) Ltd. www.hklc.com -- This is The Midgard Project's mailing list.
