This is a difficult question to answer. I haven't given it alot of thought
but counting downloads won't give us any accurate figures. Maybe the only
thing we can do is start running a poll on the main site. It seems to me
that there's been two or three new installation attempts every week for
the last six months.

The manual we're working on at Aurora will include a marketing white
paper. This document isn't ready to share, unless someone is interested in
filling in the most important details. I've only got it outlined.

If you'd be interested in filling in the blanks, I'd love to pass it on.
You can expect me to edit anything you write so you won't be burdened with
producing finished product.

I suspect part of the White Paper document should be a roadmap; history,
leading into the current design phase of 2.0 and a description of the
final 2.0 product.

The 2.0 design will be %100 percent backwards compatible with 1.4. The
current phase of 2.0 includes finding the new storage backend. Emile has
identified LDAP, X.500 and Framerd as potentional solutions.
Jean-Philippe, of Aurora, has installed and begun to test LDAP.

Alexander Bokovoy and David Guerizec have begun work on the new Admin site
and I think we should see the results within two weeks. It appears that
we've defined contracts that can be used with independent programmers and
this is the first phase of getting someone involved in producing a fully
functional Repligard. We've identified the person that will produce
Repligard and hopefully she'll still be interested when we get our
painfully slow asses beyound the contract B.S.

Well, let me know if you have thoughts...

Ron
