This all arises from the immanent return of the Atlanta Linux Showcase in early October, I went just to the trade-geek-show last year and found it to be a pretty good collection of Linux related venders, projects and a reasonable number of supporting geeks...Usenix sponsors it and there are opportunities to read papers and all of that.... I will be there this year and would be willing to look Midgard like or something along those lines..towards that end... It seems like, in the short term, we ought to think about some sort of promo materials for Midgard..I have seen talk on the list of tee-shirts, polo-shirts etc...but haven't seen much come of it, at least that I have seen. At the same time it seems like there would be a place for a leaflet handout or something. A PDF with a summary of Midgard and 1.4 on one side and a summary of 2.0 plans on the other would be a start. Then, at the very worst, I, or anybody, could download...print a hundred or so copies and drop them off around the conference. With enough time we could look at some more substantial presence...ALS next year or LinuxWorld next spring summer (or Redhat's gig in NC, if they do it this year) would be within reasonable travel distance for me...but there are lots of others... It would also make sense to put together a downloadable set of logos and presentation specifications....the goal would be to create a consistent central identity, centered on the Midgard Ry, around which commercial, or private, interests like Aurora and Alan Knowles operation can revolve....etc,etc....That is a part of larger discussion that would need to happen within the context of those other parties with an eye to how to support the cost of marketing and promotion -- This is The Midgard Project's mailing list.
