There was a SANDHILL CRANE in the floodplain/ Wallkill View farm field at 9am this morning. The bird was on the river side of route 299 just past the bridge over the Wallkill River. I watched the bird for about 10 min as it walked around pecking at the ground. I left the site to drop my son at daycare, but when i returned 10min later there was a farm truck driving around in the field and the bird was not seen at the location it was feed or the surrounding fields.
