All,

Unfortunately, my plan to route Mifnet posts from the old server to the new
isn’t working as expected. The system is sensitive to re-routed traffic.

Accordingly, please send all Mifnet posts going forward to the new address:
<mailto:mifnet@lists.mifnet.com> mifnet@lists.mifnet.com

All should be well with this change.

Thanks again for your patience,

Subject: [Mifnet 🚀 72461] Housekeeping - Mifnet System Changes (Please Read)

All,

I sincerely appreciate those who assisted with testing the most recent Mifnet
system changes.

It would seem that all the issues I have attempted to correct are now
resolved—with a single exception. I’ll continue to address the remaining
problem (relates to the known “not seeing own posts” issue).

There isn’t any reason to delay the transition to the new system, hence with
immediate effect (after this last message on the old system), we’ll switch to
the new system. With very few exceptions, everyone should notice no changes in
behavior. There are certainly remaining issues that I’ve overlooked, but I’ve
tried very hard not to. If you stop seeing Mifnet immediately after this
message (I’m holding a post that will be sent immediately), please do the
following:

* Check spam. I’m not expecting new issues here, but it’s possible. If
so, you will need to whitelist the new Mifnet server.
* Contact me off list if this does not correct the problem.

Here are the known (intentional) changes that you will see in the new system:

1. The list posting address has changed. The new address to use is:
<mailto:mifnet@lists.mifnet.com> mifnet@lists.mifnet.com Please update your
email client. I’ve configured the old posting address to route to the new.
While I’m not 100% certain this will perform without issues (we can’t tell
until we try it), I’m not expecting problems. Please start using the new
posting address in any event.
2. While the “core” of the system remains the same, you will see changes
in the member configuration pages and the archive. Most do not use these, so
the overall effect is minimal. The changes will result in some added
functionality and better performance.
3. The anonymous posting feature that has long been part of Mifnet has
been removed. The system will now display the name of the sender, if it can
discern it, or if not, it will post what information it has.

Many thanks for your patience and support as we work through these unavoidable
updates.

With best regards,
