A weakened dollar could boost US travel, but increased visa fees and rising domestic prices might offset the potential gains, according to a National Travel and Tourism Office study. The U.S. Travel Association projects the visa fee could result in 1 million fewer international visits in 2026 and 3.5 million fewer through 2028, with a $10.6 billion loss in travel revenue. "The more obstacles Congress creates to visiting America, the more the US stands to lose from visitors who will choose other destinations instead," said Erik Hansen, head of government relations for U.S. Travel. | |
