American Airlines’ Premium Economy on A321XLR is a delight

After reviewing American Airlines’ inaugural Airbus A321XLR revenue flight from
the vantage point of a Flagship Suite Business Class seat, RGN contributor
Chris Sloan jumped on the return flight from Los Angeles to New York JFK in
order to take its Premium Economy product for a spin — yes, on the very same
day.

This, after all, is a high-traffic corridor long shaped by American A321T
Flagship First expectations and widebody thinking so he was eager to observe
the value of American’s ‘tweener’ cabin on this the world’s first A321XLR with
three cabin classes. Suffice it to say he found the PE product to be an utter
delight. MORE

Welcome to American’s A321XLR inaugural in a Flagship Suite

American Airlines on 18 December inaugurated Airbus A321XLR service on a flight
from New York JFK to Los Angeles. This wasn’t a quiet inaugural. The gate area
felt more like a brand activation than a boarding zone, complete with a DJ and
a selfie backdrop. American also held a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. It even
rolled out a red carpet in the jetway. And with good reason.

After debuting premium-heavy 787-9P service earlier this year, American
Airlines' impressive A321XLR interior underscores just how serious it is about
challenging its premium competitors. RGN contributor Chris Sloan was in
Flagship Suite Business Class on the JFK-LAX flight and shares his full review
with RGN readers. MORE
