Nothing screws up a major program as well as a major reorganization at the development stage of the program. The new telephone books will be a bestseller. I suppose physically changing desks can happen when they move to the DOT building. What do they mean by permanent leaders or am I just stuck in the past when civil service was considered permanent. Will the permanent leadership be FAA?
I used to be in the Air Traffic safety office. There was a time then that we were to be moved to AVS, much to the distress of AAT-1. As it happens there was an Administration change (at the White House that is) and we were able to drag our feet and then convince the new OST that it was a bad idea. I can hear some of you going tut tut on our going against accepted wisdom, but I think it was the right decision. Matter of fact, due to my inflated opinion of myself, I would say that if I had stayed in Montreal a couple of more years ICAO's position on the matter would be different. I have read others who question policy and legal being in the same office. Is Certification landing under the Deputy a downgrade?. Major reorganizations disrupt informal organizations and you have to find out who's actually doing something, all over again. Cheers Jim Loos On Sun, Feb 1, 2026 at 4:20β―PM Robert S.
