Randy and Tom, What I mean is that no one cares enough to actually do something, anything. We must have lots of airline people here on Mifnet, yet only a very few reached out for the deeper explanation. I can truly show an individual airline how to dramatically reduce delays and save Billions annually because I have spent decades analyzing the root cause of airline delays (Random Point Overloads <https://greenlandings.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/What-Should-Airlines-Want-MTS-WINTER-2026.pdf> ), which goes against everything airlines believe. And yes, what I propose is relatively easy and internal for an individual airline to achieve, but, as my efforts on Mifnet show, explaining it is difficult. Not because the concept is difficult, but airlines just can’t get beyond their decades old, no longer valid assumption that ATC is in charge. They are not. ATC is a supplier, like Boeing, Goodyear, airports, etc. For example, I recently spoke with one airline operational executive who supported the concept but he was adamant that ATC has to do this. Why? The fact is that an ATC time managed aircraft flow is efficient, as outlined in my analysis below. Airline Centric Airport Flow Optimization vs. ATC Centric TBFM <https://greenlandings.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Airline-Centric-Flow-Optimization-vs.-AYC-TBFM-2026-02.pdf> (2026-02) Finally, Bryan Bedford’s (FAA Administrator) statement below says it all. “We’ll tell you where we want you to be in three dimensions…and we’ll tell you where we want you to be to hit that top of descent mark to [meet] the constraints of the runway”. (Bryan Bedford, Washington Aero Club, Jan 22, 2026 <https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2026-01-22/faas-bedford-provides-view-future-atc> ). Michael xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx R. Michael - I agree with Tom—everybody cares. I’ve been batting this around off and on for a couple weeks. I’m not smart enough to truly understand your proposed fix. If it were easy, the airlines would adopt it. My sense is you aren’t getting to the right people. I’d be looking for the smart operations guys who push the buttons and actually run the airline. Lay it out, give and take with them. They need to be convinced. Then let them run it up the flagpole. The CEOs are too far away from it. A suggestion. Partner up with a big league consulting firm (McKinsey, Oliver Wyman, BCG) who will have a senior partner attached to a client and senior management. They have teams of really smart young analysts who dig into things. If you can convince the senior partner, he may be able to get you in the door. With the lack of response to my question below, it seems that Mifnet agrees with the airlines that nothing should or could be done to prevent this late arrival defect into Chicago. This is a $5 Billion annual problem with a relatively easy fix, and no one seems to care. Not that I expect an answer, but why? Michael xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx R.
