Having been stuck in an IBM world for years, this is a new world for me!
IBM's latest non-beta version of WebSphere Application Server uses Java 1.4,
which is so old that Sun will drop support for it next summer. A beta
version is available that runs 1.5, but 1.6 isn't even on IBM's radar yet!

Concerning the version discussion: Is there an officially approved platform
for deployments to financial institutions? If so, and if it includes Java
1.5, doesn't that imply that developers should be testing under 1.5, not 1.6?
Just curious how closely the foundation manages the deployment environments.
