I filed a bug (#1573) since this seems like something it would be good to address in the future. https://mifos.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1573 I'm guessing this is probably a post-v1.1 issue, but perhaps it could be done pre-v1.1 if someone (volunteer?) has time.
