Here is a brief update of the progress we have been making on the Mifos
Internationalization (i18n) project.

One of the primary goals of the i18n project has been to simplify the
process required to translate Mifos into another language and to
maintain those translations.

Previously, some text requiring translation was stored in resource
bundles (properties files) and some was stored in the database. The
text stored in properties files was spread out in a number of
directories throughout the Mifos project.

To address these issues, we have been working to:

* move text requiring translation from the database to properties files.
This work is nearing completion and we will send another update when
this is done.
* centralize all properties files requiring translation into a single
directory. This work is essentially done.

For developers working on Mifos, the primary point to be aware of is
that properties files containing text that is displayed in Mifos are now
located in the directory src/org/mifos/config/localizedResrouces. If we
identify addition files that should be localized they will be moved to
the localizedResrouces directory. And if you need to add new properties
files containing text messages, then those files should also go in the
localized Resrouces directory.
