Hello Mifos QA Team,

Jeff Brewster, the new Mifos team QA Manager has made some modifications
to the test case templates being used thus far to make them more useful
for our v1.1 QA efforts.

The new template is located in SVN:

https://mifos.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/mifos/documents/qa/v
1.1%20QA%20Documents/v1.1%20New%20Feature%20Test%20Cases/v1.1%20test%20c
ase%20template.xls

http://tinyurl.com/2986mc

An example of how the new columns/fields in the template are used can be
found also in SVN in this document:

https://mifos.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/mifos/documents/qa/v
1.1%20QA%20Documents/v1.1%20New%20Feature%20Test%20Cases/v1.1%20test%20c
ase%20example.xls

http://tinyurl.com/ywktbu

Please note that this is just an example for illustration purposes - not
to be considered a complete (or even correct) set of test cases for the
example feature used.

Some of the goals of the new template are as follows:

1. Minimize the amount of rework to put existing test cases in the new
format.

2. Make it easy to import the test cases into a test case management
tool if we choose to do this in the future

3. Separate out information about the intent of each test case from the
actual steps to perform the test case and the expected outcome.

4. Make explicit the data set used to crate/re-create the test case.

JS/Sreenivas/Chandi/Arpita - Jeff and I will walk you through this new
template during our weekly call on Monday, review and questions and
feedback you may have, and discuss how to change the test cases you have
created into the new format.

To the rest of the community - feel free to send questions to the
listserv if you have any feedback or comments about our QA process or
new test case templates.

Thanks,

Aliya
