Hello Arpita,
As Jeff mentions, we will definitely send along another example to give you guys a more complete picture of how the new template should be used. It is a holiday in the US today so Jeff and I will not be able to put this together right away. It will probably arrive by Wednesday or Thursday during the working day for you in India. In the meantime, would you feel comfortable starting to try converting one or two small test cases (perhaps on the configuration options feature) into the new format? That'll give us the chance to discuss with you guys about any specific details around how you are using the new format. Let me know if you think this will be possible. Thanks, Aliya ________________________________ From: Jeff Brewster Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 10:02 AM To: Arpita Adhicary Cc: Jaganathan Srinivasan; Sreenivasulu R Borra; Chandi Datta; Aliya Walji Subject: RE: Test Case Template Arpita, Thanks for you email. As we just discussed on the phone, Aliya and I will look at creating another example test case. One other comment about the template I failed to make. I would like the Test Scenario descriptions to be clear and consise so the reviewers of the test cases can have a clear idea as to the purpose of the test cases before they read the detailed test cases. Also, I would like to encourage all of you to think of as many possible ideas as you can for scenarios and list them. For this release, we may not get all of the scenario ideas turned into test cases, but as you test, think about the "what if..." questions that come to your mind about the feature you're testing and list those "what if" questions as possible scenarios. Also, I had some trouble hearing each of you on the phone, so please email me with any questions or concerns I didn't answer or that we didn't have time to discuss. Your example on "Sequence of Names" was quite helpful and we have started looking into the possibilities of changing our existing config options test cases into that format. However, there is a difference between writing test cases for the back end property files config options and any other front-end feature. Thus, it will be great if you can send us an example for one of the front-end features too. It will be very helpful for us to refer to such examples sent by you. If possible you can send us the example on the feature "Loan Defaults Based on Previous Loan/Loan Cycle." Thanks & Best Regards, Arpita Adhicary Business Analyst IBM India Pvt.
