Hi, all. An update:
Hi Sarat. What you are doing by changing the parent reference is
changing the chart of accounts, not just where it appears in the UI. So,
the question is whether or not IIRM wants the Chart of Account to have
the Loan Protection fund be a GL code under Income from Micro Credit &
Lending Activities (falls into the main category of Direct Income)
instead of a GL Code under Cost of Funds (falls into 58000 Loan Loss
Prevention) as specified in the Chart of accounts. You cannot change
the hierarchy without changing the impact of how the revenue is
classified.
>From a code perspective, this update is probably safe, but you will need
to work with IIRM to decide if the revenue is appropriately classified.
Thanks and happy new year!

table. the script as follows...
"update coahierarchy set Parent_coaid = 23 where coaid= 144 and

Thanks and Warm Regards..

Sarat, can you send me the exact script you used to make the changes?
Also, are you running tests to see what the db impact is (like profiling
the DB, etc)? We can also talk about this item a bit on today's call.
Thanks!

HelpRegarding Chart Of Accounts.
Hi, all.
To clarify the question-the configuration change can be made easily.
What is unknown is the impact on the processing of the data with respect
to the Chart of accounts. Does anyone know of and hard-coded rules
with respect to the Chart of Accounts? Can IIRM/Profound safely make
these changes?

Subject: Mifos Implementation At Assam: Need Help Regarding Chart Of
Accounts.
Hi,
We are a Mifos implementation team based in Hyderabad. Currently,
we are implementing Mifos at IIRM, Assam, India. We have come across an
issue while creating new products in Mifos. IIRM had some Chart of
Accounts(COA) which were configured in the database and sent to us from
Grameen Foundation. The issue is with one of the COA, Loan Protection
Fund(LPF).
LPF is defined under Loan Loss Provison in COA. IIRM treats LPF also as
a fee and it has to be aplicable like any other fee while creating new
loan products. Here, when we are trying to create LPF as Fees, the GL
code is not present in the GLCode's lookup in the Defining New Fees
screen as it is defined under Loan Loss Provision.
Is this a configuration issue? Or Is there any other way to create LPF
which is defined under Loan Loss Provision, to be reflected in creating
New Loan Products. Please find the attached COA. The LPF is found at the
bottom.
We are using Mifos version 1.0 for IIRM. Any responses will really be
appreciated.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Noel Anil
