Good documentation for the database schema doesn't exist. If it did, it
probably wouldn't take long for it to go out of date.

I usually browse the autogenerated SchemaSpy diagrams and focus on a
particular table and its relatives:

You might start with Kevin Shea's excellent documentation on mifos.org:

Still, there is a *lot* to wade through and learn. Is there a specific
area you're interested in examining in more detail?

Or are you interested in the Hibernate mappings (.hbm.xml files)? I'm
still learning Hibernate myself, but I believe most everything in the
mappings is fairly standard Hibernate configuration code.
