good find Sam, thanks. I've updated the subject to reflect it's specific to
GLIM.
I was able to repro this locally on my machine with GLIM enabled. Looks to me
like the change log is reflecting changes to one of the "hidden" client loans
that reside in Mifos for a GLIM loan situation.
In my test, I see these changes after changing the external ID:

Loan Amount 1043.0 999.0 mifos
accountId 231 235 mifos
globalAccountNum 000100000000231 000100000000235 mifos
loanBalance 1043.0 999.0 mifos
account 000100000000231 is the GLIM loan number. Loan 000100000000235 is the
client loan for one of the two clients in my GLIM account. And this
000100000000235 account's loan balance is 999.0, hence the 1043.0 to 999.0
change.
