Javascript Alert box getting triggered when editing custom fields of number type

When editing a custom field and exiting the field (tabbing out, clicking on the
preview button), a javascript alert is fired. This appears to break our
standards and its not only relatively useless (its not a confirmation box), but
it also doesn't clear the values from the custom field, not to mention that the
field had numbers in it.
REPRO:
1. Create client custom fields of number type
2. Edit a client with the custom fields and enter in some numbers
3. Click on preview
EXPECTED:
Go to preview screen
ACTUAL:
Javascript alert pops up saying "Numbers only"
