Binny was encountering the same problem on his laptop while working here in the
Seattle office. We did lots of troubleshooting on his machine since I couldn't
repro on my machine. We cleared his work directories, tried different
database, and what eventually did the trick was him restarting his machine. I
suspect initial db connection problem resulted in bad params that were
"sticking".
