I was able to download and run Pootle 2.1.1, which includes support for Java
.properties files, on Ubuntu 10.04. Folks in the ##pootle channel (on
irc.freenode.net) helped me figure out that I could just untar the release and
run ./PootleServer. However, I wasn't able to get Java .properties files
translations working.

I think a .deb package would also greatly ease installation and configuration.
