Customer search is not working for specific clients

REPRO:
1. Use database SECDEP
2. Login to Mifos
3. Go to 'Clients & Accounts'
4. Search for client 'Tan Sofia' or 'Liza Imlat'
EXPECTED RESULT:
Client is displayed in search results
ACTUAL RESULT:
Client not found
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Probably this error is caused by white space in the last_name. When you go to
the Client details page (client 0002-000001797) and click on 'Edit personal
information' link you will see that the last name is 'Tan ' instead of 'Tan'.
