This is really not an issue with the test cases, but rather an environment issue

The test cases were failing because a development-snapshot of  
pentaho-reporting-engine-core was picked from the classpath while executing the 
reports from PDI .

If you look under "/opt/pentaho/data-integration-4.1.0-stable/plugins/lib" in 
birch, you will find two versions of pentaho-reporting-engine (3.6.1-GA and 
TRUNK-SNAPSHOT). We need only one of them, removing the "trunk-snapshot" which 
is getting picked up ahead of 3.6.1-GA would ensure all 58 test cases pass on 
Hudson.

Now, 3.6.1-GA is the same version as the BI server on Sandbox where the reports 
were tested. Also, the balance Outstanding report works on 3.7.0 GA (tested on 
Pentaho Reporting Designer).
So the issue may be with the development snapshot itself......
